Safety & Security:
Door Profiling. The amount of power needed for different stages of the door’s travel is learnt during setup and is constantly re-profiled. This helps it to do its job.
Intelligent Safety System (ISS). If contact is made with an obstruction while moving, the opener either stops or reverses the door to reduce injury to persons and damage to property.
Soft Start / Soft Stop. Ramping speed up and down at the start and end of each cycle reduces stress on the door and opener for longer life, and makes for quieter operation
Slim Fit. Suitable for applications where side room is limited. Requires as little as 40mm between the door curtain and inside of the bracket.
DC Motor. DC motors deliver as much power as old-style AC motors, but with less noise and vibration. DC also offers features such as soft start/soft stop
Courtesy Light. Switching on with each cycle to illuminate your darkened garage, the time adjustable courtesy light can also be operated independently of the door
Auto-Close Mode. A selectable mode that automatically triggers the opener to close just after entering or exiting the premises
Service Reminder. Like a car, your door and opener need periodic servicing to maintain their performance and warranties. Our openers let you know through audible and visual reminders

Remote Garage Door Opener Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of a garage door opener can vary depending on several factors, such as the type and model of the opener, the features and functionality included, and the complexity of the installation.
On average, a basic garage door opener can cost anywhere from $200 to $500, while more advanced models with additional features like Wi-Fi connectivity or battery backup can cost upwards of $1,000. In addition to the opener itself, you may also need to purchase a garage door opener remote, which can range in price from around $30 to $60.
At Jim’s Garage Doors, we offer a range of high-quality garage door openers to fit any budget, as well as professional installation and maintenance services to ensure that your opener is operating safely and efficiently.
While it is possible to install a garage door opener by yourself, it’s not recommended unless you have experience with garage door opener installation. Installing a garage door opener requires electrical knowledge and can be a complicated process, involving lifting heavy objects and adjusting parts to ensure proper operation. Additionally, not all garage door openers are compatible with all garage doors, so it’s important to choose the right model for your specific door.
It’s recommended to have a professional garage door installer handle the job, as they have the necessary knowledge and equipment to ensure a safe and proper installation.
With professional installation, you can also ensure that your remote garage door opener is programmed correctly and operating as intended.
No, not all remotes will work with all remote garage door openers or roller door openers. These systems are designed to work with specific remotes and controllers, and different brands and models may not be compatible with each other. When replacing a remote or opener, it’s important to ensure that the new equipment is compatible with your existing system.
The manufacturer of your garage door opener or roller door opener should provide a list of compatible remotes and controllers, and a professional technician can also help you choose the right equipment for your system.
Additionally, some garage door openers and remotes use rolling code technology, which generates a new code each time the remote is used to prevent unauthorised access. It’s important to ensure that the replacement remote or controller uses the same rolling code technology as your existing system to ensure proper operation.
The price of a remote control for garage doors will depend on the brand and model of your remote garage door opener. Prices for replacement remotes can range from around $20 to $50 or more, depending on the features and compatibility of the remote.
Some remotes may also be sold in packs with multiple remotes, which can provide a better value. In addition to the cost of the remote, it’s also important to consider the cost of professional installation or programming, which may be required to ensure the proper operation of the remote with your automatic garage door opener.
Overall, automatic garage door opener prices can vary widely depending on the specific system and components you need. It’s best to consult with a professional technician to determine the most cost-effective and appropriate solution for your needs.
To know what remote to buy for your garage door opener, you should first check the brand and model of your garage door opener. This information can usually be found on the unit itself, on the opener manual, or on the manufacturer’s website. Once you have this information, you can search for a replacement remote that is specifically designed to work with your opener.
It’s important to ensure that the replacement remote is compatible with your opener’s frequency and code system. Some remotes may also have additional features such as the ability to control multiple doors or openers. Be sure to check the specifications and compatibility before purchasing a replacement remote.
If you’re unsure about which remote to buy or need assistance with programming the remote to work with your opener, it’s best to consult with a professional technician who can help you choose the right remote and ensure proper programming and installation.
